Unicode support about lolcat HOT 6 CLOSED

What ruby-version are you using and what does locale output (should be LANG="en_US.UTF-8").

Ruby unicode support is rather hit & miss, but it works for me on ruby 1.9.2 with the above setting.

Mine is en_US.UTF-8 as well, but ruby is only 1.8.7. (1.9.2 is hardmask in Gentoo, not good)

How to do version check for require and gemspec? Googling and learning new stuff...

Same issue here. Especially problematic when lolcat’ing curl results that contain crazy UTF-8 characters. :(

Closing this issue as lolcat no longer supports ruby 1.8. It's in fact a pure coincidence that it sometimes works under 1.8. 😈
