@brtnshrdr I think you don't really need .ts files for aot. You have to generate some .metadata.json files. Take a look at ng2-youtube-player-mini. I think they got it solved. cc @mfmontenegro

@flashdave1973 what I wanted to point out is the futility of your argument. npm packages are usually deployed without the .ts artifacts. You just have to see how Google deploys its Angular modules into npm. They already use ngc to compile their components and they generate *.metadata.json files so other parties can use their components, services ... in AoT scenarios. No .ts involved.
