I managed to reproduce this in a simple test, and am working on finding a fix.

I found a solution by wrapping arguments which are instances of System.Type in a wrapping type.
As far as I can tell the original issue seems to be a bug in JSON.NET where any object of System.Type is deserialized as a System.String. I tried using a custom converter but had issues deserializing. Using the wrapping type forces JSON.Net to perform the deserialization correctly.
I'll update this issue as soon as the fix is merged and a new package pushed to Nuget.

This issue is fixed in 1.0.0-beta-00127, by PR #26
We have test coverage for this scenario now as well.
