Reading that bug makes me think this is the same issue as #51. It would seem that enabling KDE's color correction enables the compositor and own_window_argb_visuals takes effect. The expected result on that bug is wrong in the sense that enabling own_window_transparent sets the opacity to 0 and thus the images becoming fully transparent (as opposed to semi-transparent) is "expected".

Well no, be cause I have both the compositor and own_window_argb_visuals enabled anyway.

Color correction got dropped from KWin. Thus the bug cannot be fixed any more.
Closing due to 4 years and 2 months of inactivity. Open again if you are still affected. Thanks.
