GWT Designer is probably the most fragile component that exists in GWT. A plethora of things don't work with it. That being said, I'm sure there are just some interfaces or similar enhancements needed to get it functional. We'll have to look into those.

Something I'd like to try when I get a chance to see what happens is put the MapWidget in an HTMLPanel in html designer and see if it works.

I'd like to make it really simple to use this with UiBinder like

Much of this works out of the box with GWT (setting attributes are just routed to public setters), but to MapWidget would need to have an @UiChild handler for the children we want to allow within it.
