Can confirm that this is the case on Ubuntu 18.04, using latest version of Tootle from flathub.

Here's a list of icons you should expect to be available on all desktops: https://specifications.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html . I think you'll find it handy.

Interestingly, the icon shows up for a short period right after launching Tootle.

On the latest Fedora, the "following" icon is missing:

Also, the favorites icon is a little "i" - don't know if that's intentional.

I can confirm the issue with Tootle installed from the AUR on Manjaro (Cinnamon DE). Missing are:

  • the notifications icon
  • the reply button icon
  • the following icon
  • content warning icon

Oh, and I can confirm @johannesgunnar's observation that the right icons will briefly show before disappearing. When I start Tootle without any registered users, the Notifications icon for instance shows correctly. The moment I have authorized a user, the notifications icon disappears.

Notification icon is fixed in master.

Also, the favorites icon is a little "i" - don't know if that's intentional.

There is issue #29 to replace it with an icon that will look correct across different themes. Looks like it will be fixed in the next version.
