I actually have a built in test server I created that allows you to test all event by hitting a URL on your server machine locally. So you can use something like
curl -x GET http://localhost/bit
to simulate a bit event on stream. Also, the server is currently not being included in the distributed mod but I can totally include it if you think that would make things easier. But I intend to make a built in UI that allows you to test your events that way as well. That being said, I would like to integrate all the other platforms as well at some point but it really depends on if I have the time and enough people actually use this mod to do it.
As for the token thing it's actually not a good idea to do that. It is against the twitch terms of service to use a token generate for another app in yours. People can view all permissions they are giving the mod when they log in to generate the token. As they should be able to tell, it is all read permissions and only for things that the mod specifically needs. So if they have any concerns they are free to talk to me about it. They can also disconnect the mod from there account at any time if they feel the need to.
CCI for minecraft is the inspiration for this mod so I do intend to make a system similar to theirs but I can not stand there UX so I intend to make this one much easier to use. I am creating a visual scripting language instead of a bunch of drop down menus to make it easier for people to understand and configure what happening with the events, including a built in debugger for them. At least that's the plan.

Another note on the token thing, Really, logging in this way or using the token generator literally result in the same thing. An oauth token that the app needs to interact with your twitch account in some way. So weather or not people realize it, the end result is the exact same.

If you already have a test server allowing the test, I think it is a great idea to include in the next release (But, can you just open that page in your browser if you run on windows?). This will clearly be usefull at least until you have integrated the APIs of streamlabs and streamelements. In any for a good twitch integration, you will clearly need to add at least those API's, for donations (Probably one of the most common thing on twitch), merch sold and other.
For the token I agreed with you, in both case you have to give an access to your twitch account to the service...

Ok, I will include it then and make some way to activate it. You can absolutely hit the urls with a browser to test as well. So maybe next release will be a small one including the server and a way to start it.
