I could not see any major difference in the performance between these two as per below image.

Hi @chanduthedev, scandir.walk() uses scandir.scandir() instead of os.listdir() under the hood, enabling it to recursively walk the directory tree more quickly. What version of Python are you on? What do you get if type the following at a Python prompt?

>>> import scandir
>>> scandir.scandir

Because you're using Python 3.7, it already has scandir built-in as os.scandir, and the built-in os.walk uses the built-in version! So this separate scandir module won't be any faster when you're using Python 3.5 and above. This scandir module is really for people on Python 2.7 (or Python 3.4).
