SMK in IE 11 and lower about smk HOT 9 CLOSED

I test in Edge, but I haven't tested in IE11 in a long time.
Maybe we need to clarify browser requirements.

Edge is the current 'IE' requirement. Perhaps we could put up a page indicating that Chrome or Edge is a requirement if someone launches IE11 and below? Idea credit goes to ND.

We don't need it to work in IE 11; but if we could detect that case and present a useful message to the end user that would be ideal. For example:

"You are currently trying to view this map in Internet Explorer which is not supported. Please try an alternate modern browser: Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge or Safari"

The most recent release of SMK includes a check for IE11 and it will fail on startup with a helpful error message.

Looks like IE11 is being rolled out on all government workstations, so support is going to be required. Need to estimate effort.

Thanks for the estimate. Will hold until client engagement completes in April, 2019 to determine IE11 potential support levels.
