Your dockerfile needs to communicate this using the "EXPOSE [PORT]" directive. You can see how it's set in the Rails default Dockerfile: https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/main/railties/lib/rails/generators/rails/app/templates/Dockerfile.tt#L84. But yes, we need to document this.

I've since discovered it is possible to pass labels in via config
labels:
traefik.http.services.hello.loadbalancer.server.port: "3000"but I did expect it to work without having to specify this
