Package doesn't seem to take into consideration the current environment of artisan about laravel-ide-helper HOT 7 CLOSED

Sorry, forgot to reply. This is not a package issue, but you haven't do configured your environment correctly. Add your hostname to the config so it gets detected.

I do have the hostname setup on the environment correctly, but I still get the issue. All my other artisan commands work correctly without having to give the --env except for this.

Try php artisan env, and see if laravel uses the correct environment.

Yes, as mentioned above, I have to specify --env to get it working. and php artisan env gives the correct local environment name

No, I meant, run php artisan env as a command. It will tell you what Laravel detects as your current environment (local/production)
The IDE helper should respect the environment detected, so you probably have configured $app->detectEnvironment() in bootstrap/start.php incorrect.
