Hi Tobi,

Here's the documentation for real-time logs in the CloudFront Developer Guide: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/real-time-logs.html.

You can view the same on GitHub here: https://github.com/awsdocs/amazon-cloudfront-developer-guide/blob/master/doc_source/real-time-logs.md.

Does that help?

Thanks for the fast reply. I read all of the documentation regarding the real-time logs, my question is more related to how to actually use it in IAC with CloudFormation.

I.e. how can https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/aws-resource-cloudfront-realtimelogconfig.html be "linked"/referenced for/in a CloudFront Distribution (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/aws-resource-cloudfront-distribution.html). I cannot find anything regarding this in the CloudFormation resources docs.

I found the RealtimeLogConfigArn property of the AWS::CloudFront::Distribution CacheBehavior resource (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/aws-properties-cloudfront-distribution-cachebehavior.html#cfn-cloudfront-distribution-cachebehavior-realtimelogconfigarn). Is that the way you assign a real-time logs configuration to a CF Distribution?

I understand now. Yes, you're correct. The way that you associate a real-time log configuration with your CloudFront distribution is by using the RealtimeLogConfigArn property in a CacheBehavior (or in the DefaultCacheBehavior).
