This seems like a pretty reasonable request. What kinds of problems did you hit when you ran the SDK code with the HttpClient 4.2 code? I'd imagine it wouldn't take much to upgrade the code to 4.2. I remember hearing that the connection manager we use was deprecated (or removed) in 4.2, but that's the only change I know of.

To properly fix issue #36 you'll need to upgrade to HttpClient 4.2.4, which has just been released.

Most AWS calls seemed to worked normally in 4.2.4, but some of the calls with larger result sets threw consistent exceptions during parsing the long responses. Notably, us-east-1 DescribeImages (all) and us-east-1 DescribeInstances (all) for an account with a large number of objects in those result sets.

FWIW I am already using the SDK with HTTP Client / Core 4.2.4 and observe no issues. I mainly use Amazon S3 and EMR.
