Hi, I got same issue with .png too on Mac OSX 10.13
Finally I've converted them to .pnm first and it works fine. Incredibly fast comparing to my old illustrator CS6.

Why does this still do this even when compiled with no-magick option? If you can't replicate would it be possible to provide a static compile of autotrace?

I run AutoTrace version 0.40.0. which I think is the last version and I have a similar issue on linux.
