It was not "removed".
It is rather a reboot. Since Aurelia 2 was in development stage, we try to have a minimum skeleton so we don't have to maintain too much features, at least before beta release.
But surely we are open for discussion. Cc @brandonseydel @Sayan751

Ah, makes total sense. At the moment it's easy enough to just add in on a per project basis 😊
