Wow, this is old!
Aurora.js has been included in the Ampache music streaming server and I've noticed this happening... but only with FLAC. mp3/ogg/lossy is all fine, but switching to a new tab will stutter it, sometimes break aurora.js.

I'm facing the very same problem. To solve this problem I'm trying to launch the music on a web worker. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem and then avoid choppiness when the music is playing?
