That would be excellent. I'm tempted to make that as part of an IPython (ahem IJulia) integration.

You could probably do it with vanilla Python with something like what this post has. The work would be to call something like locals() after running the script, parsing it, and displaying it.

Honestly, if we went that route at least for python/ipython you just have to use the -i option to enter interactive mode after evaluating the selection or file.

We'd have to switch to using node's spawn directly though so we can handle stdin.
