I believe this is due to a change in Handlebars in either 1.0.11 or 1.0.12. I've been having the same issue, I'll be sure to look into it and see if I can get it fixed

@jonschlinkert I was about to point this out. I didn't realize we bumped Handlebars, and I thought it was with some helper or the readme task. This makes sense though.
Do you suggest we go back to a previous version of Handlebars or update our documentation? I just tested and confirmed that Handlebars v1.0.10 does not escape everything.

Wow. I found the right place. Was coming here just to mention this behavior. Nice to see that you already pointed it out.
Shouldn't it be a Handlebars issue? I mean, you do the hard work to sync everything and make it work. And, after all, Handlebars 1.0.13 reverts it to the old fashion and the whole effort goes to nothing.
