This requires that the header_footer option be enabled when executing the Asciidoctor#convert method. However, Asciidoctor.js doesn't yet fully implement the operations necessary to do a proper export. We could either get working what will work, or we could have the Save as HTML... option delegate to the asciidoctor command from the Ruby version of Asciidoctor.

I don't see the header/footer toggle option in the asciidoc preview pref of Atom.(OSX)
Is that mean I have to install asciidoc and co and generate html in a shell ?
The preview package in Atom is so nice to use, if I can avoid opening a terminal window it would be nice ;)

Yann, I was suggesting that this step would be taken internally by the
plugin. I wouldn't expect the user to do this part manually.
