This seems to be a fault in your matplotlib-package. I have no experience with
Opensuse, but by any chance is there an official matplotlib package for your
distribution? Installing random rpm-packages from the internet is most often
simply not going to work, especially if the architecture of the package does
not match your system architecture.

Sorry that I can't be of much help here. Perhaps you could try installint
python-qt4, python-matplotlib, python-numpy and python-scipy from an official
channel for your distribution. You could then simply run "python artisan.py"
after you've downloaded artisan.py from the source repository:
http://code.google.com/p/artisan/source/checkout

That should work fine as long as the dependencies are correctly installed and
work by themselves.

Ok it works fine now.

I had the problem in front of my eyes... my python arch was x86_64 ;-)

I downgraded python-qt4 python-numpy to i586 arch and found and installed
python-scipy i586 on official "openSUSE Build Service".

python-matplotlib was installed from official repository too.

Sorry for inconvenience, best regards

Pascal
