Requests using HTTPS just hang about aws HOT 13 CLOSED

Was it working with other versions of the libraries you've stated?

Can not reproduce on Ubuntu 11.10, with conduit 0.4.0.1 and http-conduit 1.4.0.2.

I will try updating all dependency package versions to the newest ones available in Nix.

Maybe you're being bitten by haskell/mtl#1.
Fix has been released on latest Hackage version.

CAN reproduce on OS X Lion, with conduit 0.4.2 and http-conduit 1.4.1.2.

When cancelling with Ctrl-C, I get the following error:

Failure (HandshakeFailed (Error_Protocol ("certificate rejected: user interrupt",True,CertificateUnknown))

So it must be a problem with the handshale.

Can you check which mtl version you're using?

Problem isolated to http-conduit or its dependencies: When generating a HTTPS request URL, it works fine with curl on the command line, but hangs when using simpleHttp from http-conduit. Will prepare for filing issue in http-conduit.

@meteficha MTL 2.0.1.0 on Ubuntu and OS X. How is that relevant though?

AFAIK only mtl 2.1 had the bug, but I'd try with 2.1.1 just to be sure.
