Okay, this happens in Java Lucene too, it's because you're passing null in as the default field to the QueryParser constructor.

You need to specify a default field for if a field is not present in the query, like in this case. i.e. if you want your default field to search to be "Text", you'd pass "Text" in as that second parameter instead of null. Let me know if this fixes your issue.

Thanks @paulirwin. I can confirm that it does work if I pass something other than null 👍.

I guess I can put whatever there, my use case is that I'm using Lucene.NET to parse a very basic boolean query. I'm really only interested in the terms, I won't support using fields anyway.
