Can you post a screenshot of what you are looking at? I can't see the problem on anything I have on my computer right now.
Also, are you referring to the files from github, or did you get them somewhere else, and where? Thank you for letting me know about this.

Abbie:

I have attached screenshots. They include the filename opened (not bold)
and the window showing the open font actually is bold.

I did not have this problem with the .ttf files.

The images were created with GIMP 2.8. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
Please let me know if you must have another image format.

Thank you for all your work on this.

Kindest regards,

Paul Watson

I am not sure the attached screenshot files came through on the email and I do not see a way to attach a file here on Github. Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks.

I've been trying around with this, and the results were... weird. In general, it takes Bold and Regular, as well as BoldItalic and Italic, and thinks those respective types are one and the same. Sometimes, it thinks Bold is Regular, or that Regular is Bold (It seems to depend on the order in which they were installed), but it always thinks those types are the same.

The Alta-variation is more consistent: OpenDyslexicAlta-BoldItalic is installed as its own font type, but Regular, Italic and Bold work fine.

Kotonaru: what OS are you using?

I'm using Windows 7. I've also tried various ways of installing; both using the automatic "install"-button in the font viewer, and manually copying the fonts into the directory. Basically, if both Reg. and Bolt (or Italic and BI) are present in the font directory, only one of them is shown, and there's even a chance it will get labelled as the other one. (If i installed both, then I have to delete the one font shown twice to remove it...)

Thanks. I've just pushed an update that I hope takes care of this. Would you be willing to try the latest otf's for me and let me know how it works for you?

"OpenDyslexic" works perfectly fine for me now, which I prefer anyway, so I'm good now.
My Font folder still does some weirdness to the Alta version, but it seems to work fine, too.

Thanks! I'll close this and open another for alta.
