This is intended behavior. The "skip" action always skips forward because it is meant as a way to indicate that you are not interested in the episode anymore. AntennaPod does not have the concept of going back to a previous episode. Which one would this be, the previous one in the queue or the previously played one that is not in the queue? Both of them would be quite unpredictable

What is your use-case for needing this feature?

We discussed and don't think think we should introduce a 'Skip back' functionality, which isn't available anywhere else (e.g. in the interface). Also the name 'Skip' we think is good enough, as it's the only skipping the app (as a whole) supports. We're therefore closing this issue.

I've listed the use case already in the steps to reproduce.
this is disappointing but I can empathise but I can't agree and can't use the app without.

When I skip forward by accident or just decide to go back, whilst using earpods/buds I cannot skip back without getting my phone out.
For whatever reason, it happens to me fairly frequently, especially in the rain (the worst time to have to get my phone out) when the wind pushes the hood against my head, it can be picked up as a tap to pause or double tap and skips forward, to I have to triple tap to skip back. which I can do in every single other media app I do and have used.

I appreciate this is new and very lean led open source app but I believe that firstly it is misleading, assigning skip to a label of "hardware back" can be presumed to skip back. why would someone skip forward on their back button?

Not having a skip back at all, again, I empathise with why but it just feels fundamental for a media player to have that nav, especially in a world with gesture remotes, designed not to need to hold the device.

you're in charge of course.
its sad for me I cannot use your app without being able to skip back a track from earbuds, I wanted to go open source rather than buy my way out of ads, I'm having to stick with Beyond Pod of all things, for its superior UX compared to the 6 other apps I tried recently.
