If this were possible, we would never have built the plugin on paramiko_ssh in the first place believe me. Unfortunately we require far more control over the ssh transport than directly calling the local ssh binary will allow.
That said, we also have issues with paramiko and are working on a replacement (#30). I don't know if this will solve your specific issues, but this is the way we are moving forward, and hopefully it will be able to resolve your specific issues in the future.
That said, I am closing this as what you have asked for is not a thing we can do.
