Hi,
That sounds like a good feature but actually is not so easy to do. Web API exposes the content as a stream and the stream be very big and there is no easy way to see how big is the content is other than by buffering it (loading all into memory) which can affect the scalability of your API.
This information actually available from IIS logs. Does this answer your question?

Fair point, I hadn't considered a streaming connection. Buffering someones traffic simply for statistics sounds like a terrible idea too. Means the library stops being an observer and starts affecting interactions.
I recommend this issue is closed as a won't fix.
