Not getting autocompletion when importing published library in a project about typescript-library-starter HOT 1 CLOSED

OK, so the problem was mine.

I updated the build process to point to src/index.ts...

export default {
  input: `src/index.ts`,

... but the typings in package.json still pointed to the full package name:

  "main": "dist/collection-fns.umd.js",
  "module": "dist/collection-fns.es5.js",
  "typings": "dist/types/collection-fns.d.ts",

I needed to update the typings to:

  "typings": "dist/types/index.d.ts",

A note to the maintainers - although it makes sense for the published / transpiled files to be the full package name, if you have more than one file in src/ you probably don't want to call it my-library-name.js but index.

I'd suggest adding this as a startup option, or add this to the post-flight checklist which is currently in FAQs.
