While the public timeline is fine while not logged in, there is no public timeline button while a user is logged in. Though, user's timeline shows the public timeline rather than sorting the followed users. Even if a user follows someone else, they can see other messages.

So,
There should be a personal timeline which only shows the followed users' messages and a public timeline which shows all messages. In this case, the personal timeline acts like a public timeline and a personal timeline does not exist.

While following a user is possible on the website, since there is no personal timeline, testing it is not possible.
