game crashes when asking tandi certain questions about fallout1-ce HOT 5 CLOSED

i read a issue related to this but the debug versions that solve this issue are already expired

Could you post a little more information to help reproduce your issue:

• What fallout-ce release were you running?
• What OS are you running on?
• Where did you download your fallout game files from?

Also if you can post a save game file right before you speak to Tandi that can be really helpful too.

i am using the fallout ce version 1.0 release from github and running it on a android 8.1 oreo os...and my game files are a backup copy from a friend..

I got the same, with the impression there's some randomness involved: Ask most things of Tandi on the first conversation except for the deathclaw story question: Fine. Second conversation: Only one or two options do not crash. "south" question: Always segfaults - console says *** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated.

Changed to a binary built from source -> all problems gone, rock stable, including the fade-out forgets fade-in (e.g. successful first aid) bug, the Scale2X ignored bug, the 'rope needs to be used from a weapon slot instead of the context menu' bug, or random freezes at ~3/h frequency.

So I'd say either these bugs have all been solved after february - or it's the build env. Your yaml 'linux' job runs on Ubuntu 20.04 I see - and in my experience SDL projects have issues on that, 22.04 works much better. Change that maybe, and get a fresh release out.
