Andreas: Thanks for your email. Yes Paypal Express does support payment by Credit Card without having a PayPal Account. It is possible to populate the Credit Card details from a POST but I accept it is not essential. However I was unable to make the Class work without the inclusion of the Card Details for other reasons.

However the discussion on this matter needs to move a much higher/more detailed level. I am a PHP Developer who has sufficient skills to write a system to access PayPal for myself but like all of us would prefer not to re-invent the wheel. I had hoped that Aktiv Merchant would provide a comprehensive solution. As far as I can deduce, it does not currently do so. It could be my lack of knowledge of Aktiv and it is true that I initially confused Direct Payment with Express. I have also looked at other solutions, namely Angell Eye. Neither AE or Aktiv appeared to address PayPal Express which is what we (including yourself in Greece) must use.

As a result, I have written a Class for my own use. I have no desire to get involved in publishing such a Class for general use as my interests lie in a different direction with my Cliqon system.

Therefore I would be delighted to send you the components for you to destruct to see what I had to do to make it work so that it can be included in Aktiv and I would be happy to document it. Then I can re-engineer Aktiv back into Cliqon to provide me with a comprehensive solution.

I havent understand yet the problem you have about paypal express and why it is not working for you.
As far as i know, Paypal express cannot accept credit cards direct from merchant. Yes you can pay with credit card after redirection to paypal website, but this is not the same. Paypal Pro accepts credit cards from merchant and the example you wrote above will work with paypal pro.

I am sorry that you did not understand my reply. I shall break down my reply into separate questions.

Do you believe that Aktiv Merchant can support PayPal Express?

If answer = yes:

My Question to you is how does it work? It is not clear from the Documentation available. I would prefer to use Aktiv Merchant than my own work as Aktiv is generic.

If answer = no:

I consider that Aktiv Merchant should support PayPal Express. This is probably the most important mechanism for small business shopping websites to access the Credit Card system given the common problems with Banking in Europe that we (collectively) suffer.

I have written a Class for PayPal Express. I have no interest in marketing such a Class. I am offering to share it with you.

Do you wish me to send you the components of the Class so that you can see how it works? Then you can include a version in Aktiv Merchant.
