You are right that the serializer does not handle tag mappings. That has never been implemented.
There's a branch that is waiting to be committed and that refactors the serializer, namely the tag assignment. Maybe we should wait for that branch to be merged before implementing this feature. On that branch, the type that takes care of tag assignment is TypeAssigningEventEmitter. I expect that the correct implementation would be to add a new ChainedEventEmitter that adds that behavior.

Oh I see, I was in the middle of refactoring the whole serialization in my branch, mainly to supports all types, add attributes to support customizations...etc. and started to introduce the same concept of ObjectDescriptor, so yeah, It would be good if I could start from your work already. I should probably rebase my work on this and start from there.
